This one is for Walt Disney fans…
Found this very interesting post on a fellow blogger’s page. Didier Ghez has this really nice blog called Disney History. Do check it out. The following content was sent in by Michael Barrier and originally posted on Didier Ghez’s blog.
It is a special treat for all those who can’t seem to have enough of Disney. It’s an article by Walt’s brother and business partner, Roy Disney, that appeared in the Reader’s Digest in Feb. 1969 (much before many of us were born!)

TASI’s “Animation For Those Who Cannot Draw!”
With a fabulous turnout of 250 plus people, the TASI workshop titled “Animation for those who cannot draw!”, began on all the right notes! The TASI team had planned this workshop with the intention of initiating a new outlook towards animation and the encouraging response was proof enough that there are many who nurture a desire to animate but fear their own lack of drawing skills. The 5 hour session was held on 19th Jan. at Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) in Bandra, the heart of Mumbai city with registrations open students, professionals and novices alike. Sanjiv Waeerkar, Creative Director, UTV, who conducted this interactive workshop is also a former TASI committee member.
ASIFA CG Meetup 2nd Anniversary event in Mumbai
A big thank you to Ritesh Reddy for sending us this animated, eye-witness report on the 2nd Anniversary Celebration of the ASIFA CG Meetup that took place on the 20th of Jan.
“The long snaky queue outside K.C. College was evidence of Asifa’s regular CG Meetups. The fact that it was the 2nd Anniversary was the icing on the cake. The counter at the entrance handed out feedback forms, raffle tickets and IAD 2006 flyers? Recycling surplus might be a more eco-friendly solution though. The slideshow on the projector displayed pictures of past IAD melas evoking nostalgia and keeping the crowd entertained. The crowds poured in and Bob Dylan decided to give an impromptu rendition. His performance was cut short however by a case of laryngitis.”
Dhimant Vyas and the ‘making of TZP clay animation’ on CNN IBN!
Taare Zameen Par has not only caught the fancy of the nation as a warm and touching film, but its clay animation sequence has enthralled audiences as well. After we featured the making of the TZP clay animation on the AAA blog (see here), others have followed suit, including Indiafm.com and now CNN IBN.
Last night, CNN IBN had a special interview with Dhimant Vyas and it will be screened today as well at 2:30 pm IST on the CNN IBN channel. Dhimant certainly deserves the accolades he is receiving for this mini-masterpiece that kids and adults alike have found fascinating. Here is the link to the CNN IBN video interview:

Indiagames’ study reveals interesting gaming trends.
Online gaming seems to be getting very popular in India, if the report released by Indiagames is anything to go by. A study was conducted on more than 10,000 paid subscribers of the Indiagames Games on Demand (GoD) subscription service and the results are pretty encouraging for the gaming industry.
Cutting across age groups and income segments, there has been a phenomenal increase in the consumption of gaming in the year 2007. In Mobile gaming, the surge came from smaller towns and at lower price points, while over 3 million gamers took to the Online gaming segment. Adding to that, the launch of gaming consoles like XBOX 360 and Sony PS3 piqued consumer interest as well.
