A Big Thank You
Since the time I launched the AAA blog and website just over a year ago, I have tried to keep my readers updated as often as possible with information, announcements and news but lately it has been tough. Being the lone force behind AAA, I have juggled client obligations, work commitments and my updates on the AAA website and blog. When you are a writer, designer, editor, animator, accountant, marketing manager, PR person, event organiser and home-maker all rolled into one, sometimes you slip-up. I offer my loyal readers, friends and well-wishers my sincere apology for the times when I have delayed putting up posts or responding to comments, feedback and emails. Those of you who were unaware before that AAA is a one-woman team, now you do. So I hope you understand and forgive

The Li’l Star Awards presented by Red Chillies Entertainment took place at Yash Raj Studios on 31st October and was attended mostly by the stars of Bollywood. What was unique about these awards was that thousands of children from 25 cities in India chose the categories and selected the nominees through a national survey. The final jury for the awards was headed by Neetu Kapoor and comprised of popular child actors from film and television.
14 contenders named for the Oscar for Best Animation
As we approach the end of the year, it is time for a lot of speculation over the Oscars. This year 14 films have been shortlisted, the front-runner being (my personal favourite!) Wall-E, Disney/Pixar’s latest masterpiece, and the others being DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Kung-Fu Panda, Israel’s award-winning animated documentary - Waltz With Bashir, London-based Framestore Feature Animation’s first film The Tale Of Despereaux, Blue Sky Studio’s Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!, Disney’s stereoscopic 3-D Bolt, CG Fantasy films - Delgo and Dragon Hunters, stereoscopic 3-D film - Fly Me To The Moon, Igor, Australian stop-motion film $9.99, and the Japanese anime titles The Sky Crawlers and Sword Of The Stranger.
Waltz with Bashir does mix in some live footage towards the end of the film and I hope it doesn’t go down the same path as Alvin and the Chipmunks did last year, getting disqualified later on a small technicality.

The Golden Cursor Awards 2008 : The Complete Coverage

At the ceremony on Thursday night, when AnimationXpress co-founder Anand Gurnani was asked,”How important is it to write about animation?” he said that a few years ago, many creative people would have loved to pursue a career in animation but due to parental pressure settled for more secure ‘jobs’ in companies and banks. Luckily, today times have changed. The Indian animation industry has seen an astounding growth and there are several lucrative career options in the field of animation, VFX and gaming. If we talk about it and spread the word, parents will be more open to allowing their kids to follow their dreams and become the future of Indian animation.
So here we are, writing about animation and sharing with our readers the events of the first ever Golden Cursor Awards for Excellence in Animation. Get all the details right here on the All About Animation Blog.
